I’m writing this now, trying to contain my excitement at the thought of being the proud owner of not one, but two pairs of Saucony x Premier Shadow 6000’s (one pair in each colour way).
What makes it even better is the fact that i didn’t even have to leave the house. No camping, numb toes or 5am starts. This was all done from the comfort of my warm bed the night before. Sounds good right? Here’s how…
Step 1.
Decide where. Obvious, but speed and efficiency are key here. You need to know which online stores are stocking your webs of choice and most importantly what time the drop is. Take a peek here on Precious Few or The Drop Date.
Step 2.
Register. Nike send you a invite link to their drops on Twitter so you’ll need to be following them beforehand. For stores like END. and Oki-Ni you’ll need to sign up with them and create an account. That way you can save your delivery address and card details which will save you a few all important minutes.
Step 3.
Multiple Tabs. I like to have a couple of tabs open with one store logged in on each. This is great for drops where there are multiple colour ways or as a back up if your first choice crashes. If you’ve got two laptops then one site on each computer.
Step 4.
Search. Like a coiled spring you’re ready to go. But wait, those webs are nowhere to be found? Use the search function on the store’s website. Better? Often new drops won’t appear on the main product page so this is the most effective way of finding them.
Step 5.
Be early. Log in 10 minutes beforehand. The early bird catches the worm they say and you definitely don’t want to be late. Also drops have been known to happen slightly earlier than planned so this guards against being caught with your pants down.
Step 6.
Automatically refresh. Most sites automatically refresh so don’t be tempted to touch that button.
Step 7.
Go! Go! Go! As soon as the page refreshes select your size and proceed to checkout. Don’t pause for breathe until you’ve received confirmation of your order. Just because they’re in your basket does not mean they’re yours.
