KICK-TIONARY – HUFQUAKES

Limited Edition Nike Air Current Hufquake

Welcome dear reader to the first in our brand new ‘Kick-tionary’ series where we take a look at some of the hottest webs around.

First up we have a pair of rims from my own personal stash, the Nike Air Max 90 ‘HUFquake’ Current Huarache.

Back in 2006 San Francisco street wear label HUF collaborated with Nike on this cracked earth print to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the ‘Great Quake of 1906’ which was felt across the whole of Cali. This exclusive print first featured on Air Force 1’s and Dunks, before making it to the Air Max 90 and Air Max 1 in 2007.

Like some sort of Franken-sneaker, the Hufquake takes some of the most popular Nike models and combines their best features, topped off with their FREEsole. The Hufquakes followed on from the DQM Bacons which are a whole ‘nother chapter.

Prices on these range hugely with the cheapest being in America where there were more pairs available. In the UK they’re much rarer, i’ve only ever seen three pairs in the flesh. The first pair was on a guy working at Foot Patrol and the other two pairs were at Crepe City (one of these is now mine).

To get weekly Kick-tionary episodes as well as a whole truckload of goodness, ‘Like’ us up on Facebook.
