No encyclopaedia of rare or limited edition kicks would be complete without a mention of Mr Ronald Fieg – Ronnie to you or me.
Ronnie’s long standing relationship with Japanese brand Asics started when he was just fifteen and working at New York retailer David Z.
The ‘Mazarine Blue’ gets it’s name from the unique blue butterfly that inspired this colour way. This model features a nubuck upper with a perforated toe box and side panels, with black top eyelets, lining and midsole adding contrast.
2011 saw the release of just 300 pairs, 180 of which were distributed between the two KITH stores along with a matching varsity jacket.
In keeping with his tradition for mixing crepes and hotness, the ‘Mazarine Blue’s’ were modelled by 21 year old Norwegian, Siri Blomquist on location in Los Angeles.
